About Us

GReeps Through the Shelves is the work of a group of friends who met on Goodreads. We love to read and talk about books, and some of us even write them! We started this blog to talk about all topics related to books, and we'd love to discuss anything you might be interested in talking about. Email us with questions or comments at

Here's a little bit about us individually:

Our Monday bloggers:

Emmalee (M) is one of your Monday posters. She is our resident author. Her debut novel, Neophyte, is the first in her Linked Series and is currently available. She's building a fvan base and aspires to be as well known as authors like Jennifer L. Armentrout and J.K. Rowling. Emmalee is married to her high school sweetheart and plays the roll of mommy to two adorable monsters. When she's not wading through chaos, on mom duty, reading, or writing you can find her lost somewhere in her crafting room among the various random craft projects she creates. Emmalee is addicted to rainy days and Disney movies, her weaknesses are homemade caramel frappuccinos and popcorn with chocolate in it. If she had to limit herself to listing some favorite authors they would be the ones she grew up reading that really inspired her to write, like Dr. Seuss, Judy Blume, R.L. Stine, J.K. Rowling, and Steven King. You can also find her at: Emmalee Aple

Ashley is the second in the Monday pairing, promising a plethera of passionate and powerful pontifications, painstakingly penned and published, primarily providing a playful yet pointed pastiche of prose.  The previous sentence was brought to you by the letter "P" and a woman who knows how to use it! Old enough to know better, but young enough not to care, Ashley enjoys humor and wordplay, which she hopes will serve her well on the blogosphere. In the same mold as the rest of the contributors here, she is an avid reader who loves books of all stripes, but especially loves talking about them.  Favorite authors: Ilona Andrews, Jim Butcher, Kim Harrison, Seanan McGuire, and Nora Roberts.

Our Tuesday bloggers:

Emma is one of your Tuesday girls! She's twenty-two, from the Netherlands, has a fish named Carmichael and a very loyal Kobo. Books were her first love, she started reading when she couldn’t even read and made up her own stories with the pictures. Emma is a mood-reader and her favourite genres are Dystopian, Paranormal, Sci-Fi, Horror, Contemporary Romance and Fantasy. She has a huge crush on Jamie Campbell Bower and would like to point out that he’s hers. Favourite authors: Mira Grant, Maria V. Snyder, Julliet Marillier, J.K. Rowling, Kristin Cashore, Moira Young, Karen Marie Moning, Suzanne Collins, Michael Grant, James Dashner and Veronica Roth. Also found at: Boekenzee

Krista is your other Tuesday girl. She is a wife, a mother and a full-time communicator. Her idea of a good time is curling up with a yummy cup of coffee and a book featuring a snarky, head-strong heroine  who isn't afraid to fight for what or who she believes in. A year ago, she read primarily  YA paranormal romance novels, but since her fellow GReepers got a hold of her, she has broadened her horizons and developed a new love of urban fantasy and adult paranormal and contemporary romance. When not reading or wrangling her rugrats (or creating most excellent alliterations), Krista loves photography and traveling. Favorite authors: Julie Kagawa, Richelle Mead, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Chloe Neill, Patricia Briggs, Jennifer Estep and Cinda Williams Chima. Also found at: Krista's Dust Jacket

Our Wednesday bloggers:

Kate has been a reader all her life. She reads both traditional and contemporary fantasy, but avoids the romance shelves like syphilis (which seems like a more appropriate simile than "the plague"). She has discovered an unexpected love for her Kindle, mostly because she wants to visit all seven continents and carrying around enough books for that is would give her room for exactly one outfit. Favorite authors: Ilona Andrews, Scott Lynch, Jennifer Fallon, Jim Butcher, Karen Marie Moning, Maggie Stiefvater, Robin McKinley, Brandon Sanderson. Also found at: Epic (Chocolate) Fantasy.

Renée covers the Wednesday posts, together with Kate. She is a Blog virgin, so please be gentle! Renée is a 25 year old, very crazy, dutch nurse who always carries something to read with her. Her favorite reads feature strong, kickass heroines, in an Epic Fantasy world, who know how to assassinate someone. She reads anything that contains the following elements; crossbows, assassins, poisons, strange magic and love that grows and not just is... When she isn't in the mood for Epic Fantasy she grabs an Dystopian or Paranormal novel. Favorite authors: Maria V. Snyder, Trudi Caravan, George R.R. Martin, Robin LaFevers, Jennifer L. Armentrout, J.K. Rowling, Veronica Roth and Suzanne Collins.

Our Thursday bloggers:

Lolita posts on thursdays is twenty-two and loves reading, first she started reading mainly epic/high fanatasy, but later found out she preferred urban fantasy, YA and paranormal romance. Lately she also tries to read more contemporary books and she finds herself also liking this genre. Her favourite supernatural creatures are shapeshifters, she would love to be able to change into an animal herself. She loves reading, chocolate, good food, cooking and gaming. Favourite authors: Kelley Armstrong, Karen Marie Moning, Rachel Vincent and Richelle Mead. Also found at: Lola's Reviews

Brittany is the second of your Thursday bloggers and has never done this whole blogging thing before. She's a 23 year old Canadian trying to figure out exactly what she's going to do with her psych degree. Aside from books she is an avid sports fan and has a serious travel bug. This is a girl with a try anything once kind of attitude, if it doesn't kill you consider doing it again. She's been reading her whole life as she was brought up with this passion. Britt will pretty much read whatever she can get her hands on but she tends to lean towards fantasy and paranormal with the odd contemporary, mystery or dystopian thrown in. Some of her favourite authors include Jim Butcher, L.E. Modesitt jr, Karen Marie Moning, Michelle Sagara, Juliet McKenna, Kathy Reichs, and Patricia Briggs.

Our Friday bloggers:

Jen is one of your Friday bloggers. She enjoys reading, making bookmarks, and collecting swag. She also likes kayaking, watching movies, and spending time with friends. She is very much addicted to her iphone, in fact, if you catch her without it you should check the skies because pigs are probably flying. Jen is married and enjoys a good glass of wine to wind down on the weekend after a long week at her 9-5. Her genre's of choice are paranormal romance (young adult and adult) and contemporary romance but she will also read the occassional fantasy, just don't expect her to recite any Harry Potter quotes. You can also find her at: At Random

Sonnie is twenty-four and like most people her age, she started to become a serious reader after her mother gave her the first Harry Potter book in the fourth grade. Since then, she’s read everything (and anything) that she can get her hands on. She enjoys such things as wine, chocolate, zombies, and Viking vampires named Eric Northman. Some of her favorite authors include: J.K. Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, V.C. Andrews, Cassandra Clare, Rachel Vincent, Richelle Mead, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Edgar Allan Poe.
